Cheree has always
had an interest in cooking and craft. As a child she spent school
holidays with her Grandma, cooking, sewing for her dolls and later
making her own clothes. She was soon making clothes for her friends.
When she married
and moved from place to place with her husband and daughters, she
was dressmaking for her new friends and their children and entertaining
with new and old recipes. Along the way she discovered artwork and
started to sketch and paint with pastels and oils. This led her
into porcelain doll making - a craft that combined her love of painting
and sewing. Other people wanted to know how to create their own
dolls so Cheree enlisted into Seeley Australia's Teacher Programme
to become a qualified teacher and started teaching this craft in
1991, which she still continues to do as well as her cooking and
dress making for friends and loved ones.
Cheree found
her interests helped her to forget her health problems. Now of course
since her food intolerances were diagnosed, and her diet addressed
and corrected, she has more energy to do these things that she loves.
Little did Cheree
realize that these interest and hobbies were creating further problems
with Cheree's allergies. She had suffered migraines from a very
early age and the frequency and intensity of these were increasing
as a direct result of careless handling of paints, glues and chemicals
used in these crafts.
As Cheree became
aware of the impact of these products on her health and took the
necessary corrective action and treating them with more respect
and care by making sure that she wears gloves, masks and using them
in the open air her health began to improve. A complete turn around
in her health was completed when she adopted a diet around her food
allergies and began using food that is preservative free and chemical
free.
Bad days and
migraines are now a thing of the past, and Cheree is hoping that
sharing her knowledge and skills with others will lead to more people
increasing their quality of life.
